Disaster Preparedness and Response Bar

San Diego County is earthquake and wildfire country. Conventional wisdom is not will a disaster occur, but when.

The newly launched JFS Disaster Preparedness & Response Program is designed to address our community’s needs and how best we can serve those impacted by disaster. We believe it is better to be prepared months or years in advance, versus one minute too late. We need your help to be ready when disaster hits.

If you want to play a vital role in our community’s response, please volunteer now for the JFS Disaster Preparedness & Response Program. Trainings begin Wednesday, May 4 and will continue through Wednesday, May 25. Please register for training by contacting Melinda Wilkes, Volunteer Services Manager, at melindab@jfssd.org or by calling (858) 637-3050. Start the process online>>

Most positions only require a basic orientation OR one-day training. Only during an actual catastrophic disaster will we being asking volunteers to work longer hours, depending upon circumstances.
