Financial Literacy services
Financial literacy is the ability to understand how money works in the world: how people earn it, how they manage it, how they invest it, and how they can donate it to help others. More specifically, financial literacy refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources.
A variety of JFS programs offer financial workshops from basic financial literacy to considering bankruptcy. We work to empower our clients to remain or return to self-sufficiency.
Programs with specialized areas to meet financial literacy needs:
JFS Hand Up Loan Program - Need financial help with business development, job training, a car for transportation to work, adoption, summer camp, or emergency financial assistance? If you are a resident of San Diego, you may qualify for an interest-free loan with us.
JFS Employment & Career Services - Assists clients with obtaining the necessary tools for a successful job search. Services include educational workshops, personalized job search assistance, resume writing, and networking opportunities. Additional services for Jewish clients.
