Volunteers are the heart and soul of Jewish Family Service—an essential reason why we can be One Source for a Lifetime of Help. Through their tremendous commitment and dedication, our volunteers exemplify the spirit of tikkun olam, or repairing the world.
We have more than 30 volunteer opportunities at Jewish Family Service. Volunteers play an integral role in mentoring children; visiting the ill and elderly; delivering meals to homebound older adults and younger disabled adults; driving older adults to and from medical appointments; completing minor home repairs for older adults; working at older adult centers and offices; helping a newly arrived refugee family; helping individuals re-enter the workforce; providing agency clients with Passover and Thanksgiving packages and holiday gifts; and much more.
