The shutdown may have ended, but for thousands in our community, the struggle to access enough healthy food continues. Jewish Family Service remains committed to providing vital support for our neighbors facing hunger.
When the government shutdown began, Jewish Family Service of San Diego moved quickly into action — launching an emergency drive-thru food distribution every Wednesday to ensure federal workers and their families didn’t go hungry.
The video below captures the compassion, coordination, and community strength that powered our response from Week 1 through Week 3 — and the unwavering commitment to keep showing up until the shutdown ends.
