If you or someone you care about has been impacted by the government shutdown or the halting of SNAP benefits, please know that you’re not alone. Every Wednesday, JFS will be providing supplemental groceries—including non-perishables, pantry staples, and fresh produce—until the shutdown comes to an end.
We understand how stressful and uncertain this time can feel. By offering food, our hope is to ease some of the mental and financial burden you may be experiencing. As long as the shutdown continues, JFS will be here to stand beside you and support our community of neighbors.

Open to federal government employees or contractors, and their families, impacted by the Government Shutdown, and individuals and families affected by the halt of SNAP benefits.
Pre-registration is not required.Â

When the government shutdown began, Jewish Family Service of San Diego moved quickly into action — launching an emergency drive-thru food distribution every Wednesday to ensure federal workers and their families didn’t go hungry.
