Corner Market

Nourishing Our Community

At JFS, we’re committed to fighting hunger and making sure that everyone in our community is food secure. Our reason for this is clear. We know that when families have enough to eat, they can more easily afford other necessities, fulfill their potential at work and school, and focus on long-term goals.

If you or someone you know needs help putting food on the table, we’re here for you.

Take the Next Step

The Corner Market

Located onsite at the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus, the Corner Market is a points-based grocery store, where you can choose items free of charge based on family size and need. The shelves are stocked with plenty of healthy choices, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and dairy, baked goods, prepared meals, hygiene and baby items – even pet food.

Shopping at the Corner Market is by appointment and visits typically last 15 minutes.

Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the Corner Market is currently closed. Please consider attending our Drive-Thru Food Distribution (more information above).

Drive-Thru Food Distribution

*New Food Distribution Times*
Our no-touch drive-thru food distribution is open to all San Diegans in critical need of groceries during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00–4:00pm at our Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus (8804 Balboa Ave). No qualifications or pre-registration are required. Our distribution includes a variety of fresh produce, dried/canned goods, and other pantry staples (based on supplies). If you have questions, please call (858) 637-3210 or online by clicking here.

“We weren’t prepared for San Diego’s higher cost of living. The food helped us make ends meet until we got back on our feet.”
