Become A Teen Advisor
Are you a high schooler looking for a unique opportunity to support other teens?
Jewish Family Service is excited to launch a new partnership with the Here App geared towards teens and mental health. Teen Advisors serve as vital support to app users who want to talk to someone their own age who understands what they are going through.
This unique service and learning opportunity teaches teens how to support their peers, boost their own wellbeing, and gain experience for jobs, college, and life ahead. Teen Advisors complete their volunteer experience remotely, allowing them the flexibility to make a difference volunteering while still managing their other commitments (looks great on your college app too!).
Teen Advisors learn about mental health (beyond the basics), coping skills, distress tolerance, executive functioning, and how to be an advocate in their communities. This is a unique service learning opportunity where high school students discover how to support their peers, boost their own wellbeing, and gain experience for jobs, college, and life.

Program Details
- Open to San Diego students entering grades 9-12
- Weekdays June 1-12 from 1-5 pm on Zoom
- Certificate upon completion
- Opportunities for ongoing monthly volunteer shifts
- Program fee: $118 per participant
