Programmatic update regarding the Positive Parenting Program
The County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services Department notified JFS that in response to Behavioral Health Transformation (Proposition 1, Behavioral Health Services Act, and Behavioral Health Bond Act), the County has comprehensively assessed prevention services and are adjusting contracted programs to better align the entire system of care and what is classified as prevention services.
Unfortunately, due to the policy changes, the County of San Diego has opted to not extend the Positive Parenting Program at the end of the contract term, June 30, 2026. The Positive Parenting Program (PPP) helps parents in San Diego County find positive solutions to common childhood behavior issues using strategies proven by more than 35 years of research.
