Our Guiding Principles

Building Belonging, Resilience, and Safety
Our programs meet the moment with clarity, compassion, and strength to ensure Jewish San Diegans experience connection, confidence, and care. We deliver intergenerational programs, workshops and services supporting emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships, and belonging.

Prioritizing Holistic Culturally Competent Community Care
We recognize that community care must go beyond physical safety to strengthen emotional resilience by supporting the persistent need for improved mental health infrastructure. We deliver culturally competent services and programming that honor the unique values of the Jewish community, while investing in counseling and preventative mental health initiatives.

Fostering an Ecosystem of Collaboration
We serve as the central hub for the Jewish communal ecosystem, proactively partnering with organizations to coordinate action, leverage resources, and build the infrastructure for collective impact.

Jewish Wellbeing Programs

Teen Mindset Matters: Parent & Teen Workshop Series
Summer 2026 | For rising 7-10th graders
A resilience-building program designed to support teens as they navigate key transitions and stressors including increased independence, the move from middle school to high school, decreased structure during summer months, and new academic, social, and emotional challenges. The program helps students build confidence, strengthen coping and executive functioning skills, and grow as positive members of the Jewish community.

Become a Teen Advisor
Summer 2026 | Open to San Diego students entering grades 9-12
This unique service and learning opportunity teaches teens how to support their peers, boost their own wellbeing, and gain experience for jobs, college, and life ahead. Teen Advisors complete their volunteer experience remotely, allowing them the flexibility to make a difference volunteering while still managing their other commitments (looks great on your college app too!).

Jewish Friendly Match
For Older Adults in the San Diego Community
Our Jewish Friendly Match Program matches Jewish older adults with caring volunteers who offer companionship and a steady connection to the community through regular visits. We strive to create a mutually enriching experience, believing that two people enjoying each other’s company lifts the spirits of both.

Project SARAH: Intimate Partner Violence Support Services
For Jewish individuals and families who reside in San Diego
Project SARAH is a support system for Jewish individuals experiencing intimate partner violence. We offer a safe, confidential setting for you to consider your options, work through a mix of feelings, and determine the best way forward for yourself and your family.

Grandparent & Grandchild
Challah Bake
For Jewish Grandparents & Grandchildren
Hosted four times a year, this event brings together grandparents and grandchildren to take part in a meaningful mitzvah! Together, we will braid dozens of challahs that will go to families experiencing hunger. Our next Grandparent & Grandchild Challah Bake is May 31, 2026.
