Moving Forward Together

Breast Cancer Case Management (BCCM)

Fighting Breast Cancer Alongside San Diegans for More Than a Decade.

Jewish Family Service of San Diego has proudly worked with San Diegans in the fight against breast cancer for more than a decade. With generous support from Susan G. Komen San Diego, JFS has provided crucial financial support to address barriers to treatment and in-home care coordination that helped patients navigate resources and overcome obstacles. Through these efforts, we have helped hundreds of individuals and distributed over $400,000 in financial assistance. We are so proud of all we have accomplished together over the years to support the community of breast cancer patients and survivors in San Diego. Their resilience and inner strength have been inspirational to us all.

Due to recent structural changes within Susan G. Komen, JFS will no longer be operating the Breast Cancer Case Management Program as of March 31, 2021.

San Diego residents can still access local and national resources, such as the Susan G. Komen Breast Care Helpline and Treatment Assistance Program, both of which are available to San Diego residents:

  • Through the Helpline, callers can receive breast cancer education, psychosocial support, and information on resources. To access the helpline, call 1-877-GO-KOMEN (1-877-465-6636) or email [email protected]. Calls are answered by a trained and caring Komen staff member Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 7:00pm PT.
  • Through the Komen Treatment Assistance Program, eligible applicants may receive a $300 award once per 12-month period to help with treatment-related costs. Callers can access the Treatment Assistance Program by calling the Helpline at 1-877-GO-KOMEN (1-877-465-6636) or emailing the Helpline at [email protected].

While JFS is not able to specifically support breast cancer treatment, we encourage you to reach out to JFS Access at (858) 637-3210 or online to discover other supportive services through JFS, such as food deliveries and distribution, safe rides for seniors, the Diaper Bank, case management assistance, COVID-19 relief services and more.
