Support the staff in our office by sorting food and clothing donations and distributing these items to people experiencing homelessness.

Palm Springs Outreach Office Volunteer

Indoor opportunity. Hand out food or clothing to people who arrive at the office seeking assistance, and help with data entry and filing paperwork.

  • Must be 18+ years, or 10+ years with parent or guardian
  • Background check required

 

Palm Springs Donation Sort Volunteer

Indoor opportunity. Sort donated food and clothing, and bag fresh food to be delivered later to JFS clients.

  • Must be 18+ years, or 10+ years with parent or guardian
  • Background check required

 

Palm Springs Food Rescue Volunteer

Help fight hunger and food waste by picking up excess food from various restaurants and grocery stores in the Palm Springs area and delivering it to the JFS Palm Springs offices.

  • Must be 25+ years old with a valid California driver’s license
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Background check required
  • Be able to lift 25 pounds

 

Palm Springs Food Distribution Volunteer

Join JFS staff in delivering food to clients in our permanent housing program. Volunteers will help unload the JFS food truck and deliver groceries to clients’ doorsteps.

  • Must be 18+ years old to volunteer independently or 10-17 years old accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Background check required (18+ only)
  • HIPAA/Privacy/Security training (provided)
  • Be able to bend, twist, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Be able to walk repeatedly on uneven surfaces while carrying food items
