Featured Specialized Positions

Mandarin Speaking Specialist
Our weekly distribution at St. Paul’s sees a wide diversity of clients in need of food assistance. Among these clients are many monolingual Mandarin speakers with whom we often have trouble communicating. This volunteer would help us by translating, communicating important information, and clarifying distribution details with clients.

Data Entry Volunteer
Come assist Food Pantry staff with entering client information and recording amounts of food distributed into our client database. The Data Entry Volunteer is vital to helping us accurately represent the populations we serve every week through our distributions and JFS's more than 50 programs.

Food Donation Driver
Hand Up receives regular donations from local businesses. Donated goods are redistributed at our program’s 12 distribution sites. The Volunteer Food Donation Driver contributes to the Hand Up team by managing the donation pickups.

Military Shopper Volunteer
Hand Up distributes food to military families twice a month at Murphy Canyon Military Housing and Camp Pendleton. In a struggling economy, many families – including families who have never needed help before – are in need of food. The demand for food has increased, and a specialized volunteer is needed to help prepare for the military food distributions.

Nutrition Food Bag Expert
The Hand Up Youth Food Pantry maintains the dignity of those seeking our assistance. One way we do this is by providing specialty bags to those with dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, gluten-free, and kosher. Help us create these bags and provide clients with the specialized assistance and attention they deserve.
