Leadership Connections
Leadership Connections is an initiative presented by Emerging Leaders at JFS, designed to connect young professionals with those who have already established themselves as pillars in the community. This initiative features exclusive intimate gatherings hosted by Emerging Leaders at JFS, which provide a special forum for leaders of today to share their wisdom and insight with the leaders of tomorrow.

Topics range from business to politics, with an emphasis on philanthropy and community involvement. Past speakers include Ernest Rady and Leo Spiegel. The comfortable and casual setting of Leadership Connections facilitates lively discussion and the opportunity to ask questions.

Young professionals committed to bettering themselves and the community are welcome to attend!

Emerging Leaders' 2nd Annual "Operation Curb Appeal" Community Service Project
On April 13, 2014, a group of 12 volunteers spent the day assisting with our most recent Operation Curb Appeal project with the JFS Fix-It Service. Over the course of the afternoon, the volunteers got to know Angel, an older woman who had experienced medical setbacks and needed help cleaning and repairing her home in preparation for a new caregiver. Over the course of four hours, the volunteers removed a truckload of debris from her yard, thoroughly cleaned her home, installed new shelves and a screen door, and re-landscaped her front yard. Now, Angel can can enjoy an afternoon in the yard with her dog Foxie or invite neighbors into her home knowing it is safe, clean, and welcoming.
