Parenting and Youth Services at JFS strive to ensure that San Diego families are connected to positive parent education, mentorship and support for family life issues at all ages and stages. Whether you’re a new parent, a single parent or a parent of an adolescent, our programs are designed to strengthen you, your family and the community.
Programs and Services
- Jewish BIGPals - Jewish volunteer mentors serve as role models and friends to Jewish children from single parent and non-traditional families.
- Supporting Jewish Single Parents
- By providing support, advocacy, and social activities, we’re
dedicated to ensuring Jewish single parents and their families stay
connected to the Jewish community.
Hand Up Food Pantry - Run by a dynamic committee of teenagers, the food pantry delivers food throughout San Diego County while case managers at distribution sites connect participants to Jewish Family Service services.
JFS–David Rubenstein Memorial Scholarship Fund
(Formerly the Rubenstein Family Scholarship Program) - Scholarships are
available for post-secondary education to qualified students who are
residents of the San Diego Jewish community.
Positive Parenting Program - Free parent education seminars and groups throughout San Diego County available to families and caregivers at Head Start sites, military families with young children, Elementary Schools and other community sites.
Groups - Support groups offer a emotional comfort and moral support. We offer several support groups throughout San Diego County.
