Our Parenting & Youth Services Department strives to ensure all San Diego families have access to education, counseling, and support for family life issues at all ages and stages. Whether you’re a new parent, a single parent, or a parent of an adolescent, our programs are designed to strengthen you, your family, and the community.

Programs and Services

Adoption Alliance of Southern California - We’ll guide you through the entire adoption process, ensuring it’s the beautiful and exciting experience it should be.

Hand Up Youth Food Pantry -  Run by a dynamic committee of teenagers, the food pantry delivers food throughout San Diego County while case managers at distribution sites connect participants to Jewish Family Service services.

Healthy Development Services - We offer FREE parenting classes designed to help you promote your child's development and address mild to moderate behavioral concerns.

Jewish BIGPals - Jewish volunteer mentors serve as role models and friends to Jewish children from single parent and non-traditional families.

Pachie's Place - Empowering parents to be more confident, informed, and connected through education, events, and online resources. Pachie’s Place also provides high quality, engaging programming for children.  

Positive Parenting Program - Free parent education seminars and groups throughout San Diego County available to families and caregivers at Head Start sites, military families with young children, Elementary Schools and other community sites.

Preschool in the Park - A preschool in a familiar--setting the neighborhood park! This mobile preschool for children ages 1-4 travels to Escondido and San Marcos.

Rubenstein Family Scholarship Program -  Scholarships are available for post-secondary education to qualified students who are residents of the San Diego Jewish community.

Supporting Jewish Single Parents - By providing support, advocacy, and social activities, we’re dedicated to ensuring Jewish single parents and their families stay connected to the Jewish community.
