Take a computer course in the Cyber Café, join a fitness or yoga class, or watch a film in the movie room. Then catch up with friends over a delicious Kosher lunch, featuring our soup and salad bar served daily.
Some of our favorite entrees include brisket with mashed potatoes, baked fish with garlic & lemon, and Chicken Bombay with brown rice. You can also take home fruits and vegetables from our bi-monthly “Fresh Market.”
For those living with Alzheimer’s or related forms of dementia, the Balboa Avenue Older Adult Center may be right for you.

Mondays at 1:00pm – Sing along with Aviva. Watch fun videos with the lyrics of popular songs and sing together for one hour. Music and singing stimulates our heart, spirit, and brain.
Tuesdays at 2:00pm: BAOAC friends meeting. Learn, talk, socialize, sing, exercise, and meditate together with your BAOAC friends.

Thursdays at 10:00am: BAOAC friends meeting. Learn, talk, socialize, sing, exercise, and meditate together with your BAOAC friends.

Thursdays at 2:00pm: Care partners social hour. Connect and collaborate with fellow caregivers.

On any given day, you can expect a stimulating mix of games, workshops, live music and entertainment, discussion groups, dancing, guest speakers, films, cultural events, holiday celebrations, and more.

Transportation to and from the Center is offered through On the Go: Transportation Solutions for Older Adults.
We emphasize healthy aging
We offer nutritious kosher lunches, daily exercise and fitness classes, nutrition workshops, and regular screenings to support mind-body wellness. You can also take home fruits and vegetables from our bi-monthly “Fresh Market.”

Lunch is offered daily at 12:00pm for a suggested donation of $4 for adults 60+ and a $7 fee for all others.
Roundtrip transportation is available to participants living in the surrounding area for a suggested donation of $4.00 each way.
The College Avenue Center offers a farmers’ market-style “Fresh Market” for older adults every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 12:30–1:30pm. In collaboration with the Hand Up Food Pantry and Feeding America San Diego, participants the chance to fill a bag with healthy, seasonal produce of their choice.
During the pandemic, all virtual programming is FREE and all are welcome to attend. If you’d like to make a donation in support of our social and wellness centers, please click here and designate your donation.
