JFS volunteers are a diverse group of San Diegans united by their passion for serving the community in meaningful ways – from delivering meals, to keeping older adults company, to helping refugees feel more at home. We welcome individuals, groups, and families of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds. We’re excited to welcome you to the team.
JFS is a home for the whole community – for people in search of a better life and for those seeking to make better lives possible. We believe in connecting volunteers to rewarding service opportunities that utilize their unique skills and talents. Many of our current volunteer positions are listed below. Help community members get back on their feet by providing emergency food assistance and other resources.
Provide companionship, friendship, and life-enriching experiences to children from single-parent and non-traditional homes and to help them achieve their full potential through a 1:1 mentoring relationship.
Mentor a newly arrived refugee family by providing companionship and general acculturation support as they adapt to life in the U.S.
Provide safe & reliable transportation to older adults ensuring they remain active, healthy, and connected to their community.
Represent patients in due process court hearings, or provide administrative support for our Patient Advocacy program.
Assist families in need by providing meals, parenting techniques, child care, and a safe environment for their children to play and learn.

Help community members get back on their feet by conducting a food, school supply, hygiene, holiday, or blanket drive!
